Thunderstorm
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Monday, June 19, 2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are anticipated over this region except Maiduguri, Nguru, Potiskum and Gombe which have prospects of isolated thunderstorms in the morning hours. There are prospects of localisedthunderstormsover Yelwa, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kano, Katsina and Gusau, in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 36℃and 20 – 27℃respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected over this region with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Yola and Mambilla Plateau axis in the morning hours. Localised thunderstorms are anticipated over Abuja, Makurdi, Jos, Lafia, Kaduna, Lokoja, Bauchi, Yola and Jalingo in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 26 – 34℃and 17 – 24℃respectively.
SOUTHERN STATES: Increased cloudiness is expected with prospects of localised rains over places such as Lagos, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Ijebu Ode and Eket in the morning hours. Later in the day, there are chances of isolated thunderstorms over Akure, Osogbo, Ibadan, Enugu, Awka, Onitsha, Calabar, Lagos and Port Harcourt in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperatures are expected to be within the range of 30 – 31℃and 20 – 23℃respectively.
