The Chairman of Delta State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Barrister Kingsley Esiso, has inaugurated the Central Working Committee of PDP Delta Central Mega Rally. The event is scheduled to take place at the Sapele Township Stadium on Friday, June 23, 2017.

Executive Assistant on Communication to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and member of the Mega Rally Publicity Committee, Fred Oghenesivbe, quoted Esiso as saying that the event is to test run certain weird but superlative political strategies ahead of 2019 general elections in the state.

He said in a statement issued in Asaba, the state capital: “The entire PDP structures in Delta Central shall on that day come under one roof to politically groove Sapele and its environ and in the same token send signals to the moribund major opposition party, the APC; that PDP still and will continue to dominate and control grassroots politics in Delta Central senatorial district.

“Honourable Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, heads the finance committee to raise required financial resources good enough to make the mega rally first of its kind in the entire history of Delta Central politics.”

Esiso assured Deltans that the Okowa administration will continue to execute substantial socio-economic and infrastructure projects in fulfillment of his 2015 campaign promises.

According to the statement, “Various committees were set up at the Senatorial and local government levels to ensure that no member of the party is left behind during the mega rally come June 23.

“The State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, former state Governor, Chief James Ibori, Secretary to the State government, Hon. Festus Ovie Agas, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire and other top leaders and chieftains of the party will be in attendance guest speakers.”
