APDA chief Raymond Dokpesi
Media Mogul Raymond Dokpesi on Monday joined members of other political parties in the country to float a new party.
The name of the party is Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA), while the party slogan is “Stronger Together”.
It has Shitu Mohammed Kabiru as the interim chairman.
Former chairman of the Labour Party, Dan Anyanwu is another notable presence in the formation of the new party.
The national executive committee of the party is yet to be constituted.
The Formation of the new party come as that the members of the Makarfi faction of the PDP were planning to establish a new party.
PDP, once Nigeria’s ruling party is currently facing a leadership crisis which has divided the party into two factions.
The two factions are led by Ali Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi respectively.
Dokpesi is a member of the Makarfi faction of the opposition party.
