Governor Akeredolu
The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has set up a five-man committee on recovery of state government vehicles from unauthorised persons and locations.
The committee has the state’s former Commissioner for Natural Resources, Solagbade Amodeni, as Chairman and Mr Lawrence Akintunde as Secretary.
Other members are the Senior Special Assistants (SSA) to the governor on security matters; Mr Jimoh Dojumo, Mr Yusuf S. and Mr Odunayo Kolawole.
The committed, which has six weeks to submit its report, has been directed to recover all government vehicles within and outside the state.
In a statement signed by the Chief of Staff to Governor Akeredolu, Mr Olugbenga Ale, the state government expressed worry over the number of vehicles in the possession of unauthorised persons.
“A number of government vehicles are in possession of unauthorised persons and locations, contrary to the rules and regulations guiding the use of government vehicles.
“To this end, the Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has approved the constitution of a Committee on Recovery of State Government Vehicles from unauthorised persons and locations.”
The committee is expected to carry out its responsibility with the support of security agencies, in the case of those who may not want to release the vehicles voluntarily.
“The committee will employ all legal means, including the use of minimal force where necessary to recover government vehicles.” (Channels TV)
