The Benue State Government says it has uncovered a four-billion-naira bond fraud, allegedly perpetrated by officials of the past administration in connivance with a bank.

Governor Samuel Ortom disclosed this to journalists at an interdenominational service in Makurdi, to mark his second year in office.

He explained that the widespread financial impropriety of the previous government has left Benue State impoverished.

The governor also attributed the development to the poor run of project implementation and prompt payment of salary to civil servants in the state. (Channels TV)
