The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today,Friday26,2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are expected over this region throughout the forecast period with prospects of localised thunderstorms in the morning over Kebbi, Yelwa, Gusau, Katsina, Kano, and Maiduguri. There are also prospects of localised thunderstorms in the afternoon/evening over the northwest. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 34 – 42℃and 17 – 28℃respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy morning is expected over this region except over the western part like Abuja, Minna, Lokoja, Lafiya, Makudi and Jos where there are chances of localised thunderstorms in the morning. Later in the afternoon/evening, Abuja, Minna, Lokoja, Lafiya, Makudi, Jos, Kaduna, Mambilla plateau, and Ibi have prospects of localised thunderstorms. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 33 – 35℃and 22 – 25℃respectively, except over Jos where 30℃and 19℃day and night temperatures are expected.

SOUTHERN STATES: There are chances of isolated showers over parts of the inland cities of the south and the coastal areas in the morning, while localised thunderstorms are expected over Enugu, Abakaliki, Owerri, Awka, Benin, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Oshogbo, Ijebu-Ode, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abeokuta in the afternoon/evening hours. The Day and Night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 31 – 32℃and 22 – 24℃.
