Just hours after its AGM meeting on Wednesday, Nigerian airline, Medview, has received news of a ban from European airspace.
The ban which was enforced on the airline by the European Union cited safety concerns.
It is one of 181 airlines banned by the EU.
The EU airspace regulation is based on the unanimous opinion of the aviation safety experts from the Member States who met from 25 to 27 April within the EU Air Safety Committee (ASC).
This Committee is chaired by the European Commission with the support of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
In the updated version, all air carriers from Benin Republic and Mozambique were removed from the list, while four individual airlines, one each from Nigeria, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe, were added.
Medview has not yet released an official statement on the report.
The airline had on Wednesday held its annual General Meeting in Lagos.
At the meeting Shareholders commended the board and management of the company for recommending a dividend of three kobo per ordinary share of 50 kobo, just three months after the company is listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
