Thunderstorm
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today,Monday, May 1, 2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy condition is expected to prevail over this region throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 38 – 43℃and 23 – 30℃respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy condition with chances of localised thunderstorms will be experience over Makurdi, Lafia, Jalingo, Mambilla and Obudu during the morning hours. There are also prospects of localized thunderstorms over the high ground areas such as Jos, Lokoja Abuja and Southern Kaduna later in the day. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 38oC and 23 – 28℃respectively except Jos with 31/19℃
SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudiness is expected with chances of localised thunderstorms over the coastal cities such as Port Harcourt, Calabar, Lagos and Yenagoa in the morning. Afternoon/evening localised thunderstorms are anticipated over cities like Akure, Ado Ekiti, Benin, Warri Oshogbo, Owerri, Enugu, Awka and Abakaliki. Day and night-time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 31 – 34o℃and 21 – 25℃respectively.
