The Olubadan of Ibadan and Paramount Ruler of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, has called on the organisers of JAW JAW AFRICA, A Victor Eniola Mark Inter Tertiary Debate Competition, to sustain the project as it is germane to Africa’s development.
Oba Adetunji made this known during a courtesy visit on him at his Palace in Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria by the Organisers of Jaw Jaw Africa led by the Initiator, Victor Eniola Mark.
The Paramount ruler, after endorsing the project, showed specific interest in the Yoruba Orator of The Year Challenge stating that the Yoruba culture must be sustained against all odds.
He said: “I am an advocate of culture and Tradition. In many interviews, I had been clear on my conviction about the importance of the continuous use of Yoruba Language in our day to day life.”
“Please promote Yoruba Culture with this your debate. I have endorsed it and it will be well with you. The programme will succeed. In fact, the gate of this Palace is open to you any time of the day,” the Olubadan added.
Oba Adetunji also encouraged the organisers to kick-start the Oyo State finals in earnest while pledging unfettered support for JAW JAW AFRICA.
In his parting words the Olubadan said:“Inu mi dun gaan ni. E ma ba ile layo. E si ma Se Aseyori ninu JAW JAW AFRICA yi.”
He then proceeded to sign the frame as a formal indication of his endorsement.
