A coalition of pressure groups in Anambra North Senatorial District known as Association in Defense for Anambra North Interest (ADANI) endorsed four governorship aspirants from the zone, describing them as being eminently qualified to govern the state. ADANI in a statement issued on Tuesday by and signed the Director of Publicity, Amb Martin Nnabuife, however, called on APC members in the zone “to unanimously present one guber aspirant ahead of the party primaries.”

“In recent times,” ADANI said, “we have identified quality gubernatorial aspirants from Anambra North, men of strong character and proven integrity, everyone of the aspirants from this zone is exceedingly qualified for the seat, but we call on them to come together bury each other’s ambition and elect a candidate to represent the zone at APC governorship primaries.

“So far, notable and promising APC Governorship aspirants from Anambra North are Dr. Tony Nwoye, Comr Harris Chuma, Dr Chike Obidigbo and Sir Paul Chukwuma. We call on them to work together for the actualisation of Anambra north quest to clinch the All Progressives Congress guber ticket.”

According to the statement, “ADANI advocates that other intending aspirants from Anambra North should come together to present a candidate who will represent Anambra North at APC governorship primaries. The call became necessary to inspire team work towards ensuring APC gubernatorial ticket falls on the zone.

“ADANI believes that if the zoning arrangement for the governorship slot remains in Anambra North senatorial zone the best for the aspirants from the zone is to rally round a candidate who will be more acceptable to other APC stakeholders, party big wigs and Ndi Anambra at large.”

The group said that it is poised to make sure that the elected aspirant from the zone enjoys its maximum support at the scheduled elections.

“We wish to affirm our support to the aspirant chosen to represent our zone at the primaries, we will work assiduously to ensure that victory is secured both at the party primaries and the elections proper come November 18, 2017. We are optimistic that the best aspirants from Anambra North will fly APC guber flag in the state, all things being equal,” the statement said.
