SEX AND THE BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN

SEX AND THE BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN

1 Corinthians 5:13 says: “The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.”

1 Corinthians 13 verse 40 says: “EVERYTHING SHOULD BE DONE DECENTLY AND IN ORDER.”

I want to state clearly here that lovemaking is more carnal than spiritual, and if done carelessly, can bring death physically and spiritually to a marriage or a person.

While I am referring to married people, lovemaking is not something for the single . . . Any act of homosexuality, lesbianism  and masturbation is a taboo among believers. The Bible states in Ecclesiastes 12, verse 1: “Keep your creator in mind . . .” How is this possible? By obeying his commandments set out in the Bible. This indeed will give you the greatest happiness possible. We are cautioned to flee from sexual immoralities and the Bible specifically states… “fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”

So singles, please stay out of sexual relationships. In due time if God tarries, you will get married. Put this in mind and you will not misuse your bodies, your body is God’s temple where the holy spirit dwells. Many single young ladies and men ventured into it and the result is unwanted pregnancies, heartbreak, and the worst is spiritual disaster. Be careful of living like the worldly youths. Do not emulate their ways.

2 Corinthians 6: 14-17 says: “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and Idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said . . . I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God and they will be my people. Therefore come out and be separate…”

In 1 Corinthians 6, verse 18, it says: “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.” To every single, fornication is sin and to those married, it is forbidden to commit adultery, so to those who do, go back to God immediately, soberly, meet a man of God to counsel you and do not go there anymore.

Before shouting, or saying something offensive, try to patiently read through this article and let me have your reaction. As a matter of fact, this is a topic affecting most families and people would rather keep silent and die rather than asking questions. As led, the truth ministry came with the truth that frees, so permit the truth to be your guide. Love making is an act between two married people, involving a male and female, as a couple. God is orderly and he desired same for the marriage institution. A man takes a wife to himself and they become one flesh. THEY ARE NOW ONE AND SUCH ONENESS IS SUPPOSED TO ATTRACT COMPASSION IN ALL THINGS, EVEN in sexual issues. However, it does not mean a man has the right to turn the wife to a sex slave. When you over demand, you have sinned.  Love making between married people has the right and the wrong timing. Some men think, because they are married, they can make love to their wives anytime they choose, it is not so. They turn their wives to slaves in bed and most women shy away from the discussion and start dying in silence. Colossians 3:18-19 says: “Wives submit to your husbands as it is fitting in the Lord. Husbands love your wives and be not harsh with them.” Please take note of the word . . . HARSH.

Ecclesiastes 3: 1 says: “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven…..” A tired wife who has been over laboured throughout the day should not be disturbed, same with a sick woman, and those having many other reasons. Let not your partner suffer after love making that was forced. When a woman newly delivers her baby, the husband should let her be, and since adultery is a word forbidden to believers, it is actually a time for the husband to abstain from love making, for his personal spiritual upliftment. The woman has a body that is very fragile, the man should understand and give her rest. It is not only the women that should be considered, the men too should be given consideration by their wives when they have over laboured. You have to be open to reason. If a partner sincerely tells the other that he or she is tired, the other should understand.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 says: “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified, that you should avoid sexual immorality, that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and  honourable, not in passionate lust like the heathen.”

A man from my state narrated how he has settled his co-tenant and friend (a non-Christian though but then, it still happens in some Christian homes), and his wife countless times. You may be wondering about what. Actually the poor lady was constantly sexually harassed by her husband. This is a lady that came into the marriage as a virgin and the man unfortunately has an insatiable desire for love making and she kept running to this man for him to discourage her husband from making her a sex slave.

1 Corinthians 7: 1-8 says: “Now for the matters you wrote about, it is good for a man not to marry, but since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife and likewise the wife to her husband. Do not deprive each other but by mutual consent and for a time so that you can devote yourselves to prayer…Mutuality matters.”

Thousands of women are facing this daily and the society does not encourage them to speak out, and as such, many have gone to their early graves.

I want to share a story that I heard from a reliable source, so many years back, when I was about 12 years old.

I was yet to date anyone and yet the story hit me greatly. The man in question was a believer that many people looked up to. The wife was sick and was close to the point of death. I was too young to ask how it came about that they concluded that she would not survive, but the point is that, the husband believing that she would not survive, went and made love to the wife, and as God willed, she survived to narrate how stupid her husband was. You can imagine the shame he had when the wife recovered, knowing what he did. Many people were shocked. Can you now understand how we can still be committing sin sexually even if we are married? Marriage is not a guaranty for messing up. We need to pray for the mind to be spiritual.

The Bible cautions that to be carnally minded is death and to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

What I am saying is that the right time for love making is when the feeling is mutual in both parties and not otherwise. Let married people learn to be sexually disciplined. Discipline is necessary also in a very important time for communing with God, in prayer and fasting.

2 Corinthians 7:1 says: “Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”

Today, amazingly, the world discourages spiritual issues. We should care more for the spirit man that lasts forever. Obedience to the word of God promotes spirituality. As a matter of fact, the Bible condemns lawlessness. Our Lord Jesus Christ says in Matthew 23 verse 28: “In the same way, on the outside, you appear to people as righteous but on the inside, you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. Let us safeguard our conscience with God’s word…….”
