Apugo made the assertion in his Nkata country home during an interview with newsmen last Saturday.
According to him, Abia and Abians have suffered enough of misrule in the hands of PDP which has been in control of the state since 1999.
Though he did not give details of the misrule, Apugo hinted that APC was waiting on the wings to take over the reins of power in Abia from the PDP and enjoined all his Ibeku kinsmen to join and register with the APC, the ruling party at the centre.
“All Ibeku sons and daughters, today, I enjoin all of you to go and register with APC. I will be doing you a great disservice if I did not tell you this. APC is now flowing through my veins.
“I am telling you, our roads would be fixed, even this Bende Road. I attracted the Ikot Ekpene and Bende roads and the two roads have been awarded by the Federal Government and it will be done. Forget what others will be telling you,” he said.
Continuing, Apugo said: “The pitiable position we have found ourselves in Abia is supposed to be of great concern to us. We have been in PDP for 17 years, from Orji Uzor Kalu to Ikpeazu.
“Ikpeazu is the last PDP governor in Abia. PDP will never win again in Abia. This is their last chance in Abia. I mean what I am saying.
“If you do not embrace APC, you will be a lone ranger. The North has been our strong ally, particularly, the Ibeku people, since time immemorial.
“Today, if any person tells you that he will displace APC from power, tell the person that he is dreaming. We were all together in PDP and we understand the game of politics perfectly but in APC, we are guided by honesty.
“That is why I am urging you to embrace APC because that is the party that will bring immense benefits to our people. They will provide jobs, infrastructure, schools and all,” he added.
“Forget about the criticisms trailing President Muhammadu Buhari; he is the best leader Nigeria has ever had. So, people should continue to pray relentlessly for him because he has not come to loot the treasury and would not allow others to perpetrate such crime.
He hasn’t taken a kobo as salary since he assumed office.
“After understanding Buhari, you will come to the conclusion that the God that created him is wonderful. Just ordinary wind that he blew, people are catching cold.”
Apugo, who hosted the new factional executive of Ibeku Egwu Asaa Development Association (IEADA) to a grand reception, called for unity among the Ibeku clan, adding that he was ready to render any form of assistance that would make Ibeku to progress.
Earlier, the paramount ruler of Ibeku clan and Ogurube the 4th, His Royal Highness Eze Samuel Onuoha, had blessed the new IEADA executive, proclaiming them as the authentic leaders of Ibeku.
Immediate past President-General (PG) of IEADA, Chief Onwunaruwa Onuoha, confirmed to the gathering that he conducted the Bi-annual delegates conference which produced the new executive.
Also, Chief Joshua Ogbonna told News Express that Article 7 of IEADA constitution vested the power to conduct the bi-annual delegates conference on the PG of IEADA, stressing that any other congress held outside the supervision of the PG was null and void.
In an interview, the new IEADA PG, Princewill Ike Ukaegbu, said he would pursue the reunification of Ibeku as his priority agendum, while urging all Ibeku indigenes to embrace peace.
The gathering featured the presentation of the Ukaegbu-led executive to the people of Ibeku ancient kingdom who graced the occasion by Chief Onwunaruwa Onuoha.
