The Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya, on Thursday said none of its students was killed as being reported in the media.

The statement however, called on members of thepublic to totally disregard such stories as they are mere attempt to compound the security challenges being experienced in Southern Kaduna and the state in general.
The statement reads: “Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya is in receipt of a report on unfounded news going round the media especially the social media that five (5) students of the College were ambushed and killed by Fulani Herdsmen on their way to the College along Kagoro-Gidan Waya road on Sunday, 22nd January, 2017.
“The College wishes to categorically state that the story is totally false and unfounded.
Similarly, the College is not aware or in receipt of any report of such incidence from the Police. Moreover, the College does not run any Department of Mass Communication and all her students of the Gidan-Waya campus are presently on break.”
“We are surprised that such insinuation is being patronised and perpetrated by certain reputable media outfits such as Vanguard.
