Anambra guber aspirant Oseloka Obaze
A former Secretary to the Government of Anambra State, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, has declared his interest to vie for the governorship of Anambra State coming up in November this year.
He made the declaration yesterday in Awka while addressing journalists, noting that he bears no grudge against the incumbent Governor who incidentally is from his zone but for his style of leadership which he said was not as expected.
Obaze said that with the way things have nosedived, the state deserves better leadership to return it to the top echelon as a state that stand out.
He stated: “Leadership is about vision, exposure, capacity and the wherewithal to deliver the required governance values and services. Besides developing a forward-looking blueprint, one must also have the experience and institutional knowledge of how government establishments are run.”
According to him, the need for a change arose from the fact that the foundation made by the immediate past administration which would have set the state well ahead of other states in Nigeria was lost adding that the development partners left even as the continuity promise was totally abandoned.
Obaze who is yet to declare the platform he will fly their flag said that politics has matured to the extent of party not being the deciding factor of who wins election but the candidate’s bona fides.
He added, “I believe our people and Nigerians as a whole have learnt some hard and harsh lessons about incidental leadership. Anambra deserves better leadership and the people know it and will decide.”
