Road accident scene
No fewer than seven persons died in a road accident that occurred on Sunday at Kula village, along Bauchi - Kano Road, involving a red Honda Civic car, with registration number, AM 41TRN, driven by one Inusa Sale of Nasaru Village in Ningi LGA of Bauchi State.
SP Mohammed Haruna, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state said in a statement issued on Sunday that the accident involved a vehicle that was conveying six passengers, and a grey coloured Sharon Bus with registration number, BAU 844 AE, driven by one Babawo Dan’azumi of Bauchi town conveying five passengers.
“The accident occurred when the Honda Civic driver, coming from the Kano direction on high speed, on reaching a bend at Kula village, the driver lost control while trying to overtake another vehicle and had a head on collision with the Sharon bus coming from the Bauchi direction. As a result, twelve persons from both vehicles sustained various degrees of injuries.
“Police Patrol Team attached to Ganjuwa Division led by the DPO visited the scene and rushed victims to the General Hospital, Kafin Madaki for medical attention where seven casualties including the driver of the Honda Civic were certified death by a medical doctor.”
Also receiving treatment are Inusa Sale, 35; Yakubu Suleiman 30; Isyaku Alka 40; Inusa Sauwanu 30; Shaibu Wada Maigoro, 35; and Ali Haladu, 25, all of Nasaru village in Ningi LGA of Bauchi State.
Mairo Alh Adamu, a 30 years woman from Warji LGA of Bauchi State was also among the victims.
Meanwhile, Five casualties were admitted and but they are responding to treatment while all corpses were released to their relatives for burial after postmortem examination.
The Police Command urged members of the public particularly drivers of commercial vehicles to always drive with Care and Caution in order to avoid unnecessary loss of lives and property please.
