The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has introduced N2,000 monthly demurrage on unclaimed certificates by the alumni of the institution.
Consequently, the management of the institution has issued a final notice to all graduands and alumni whose certificates remain unclaimed to come forward and collect them without further delay.
It said the payment of the N2,000 monthly demurrage would commence in January, 2027.
The deputy registrar, Examinations and Records Division of the institution, Mr. Saka Eletu, disclosed that the Polytechnic authority has observed that a considerable number of certificates belonging to former students remained uncollected.
He urged all concerned graduands and alumni to come forward and collect their Diploma, Higher Diploma, National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND) and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) certificates on or before 31st December, 2026.
He added that certificates are ready for collection at the Examinations and Records Division of the polytechnic during official working hours
According to Eletu, ” with effect from 1st January, 2027, any certificate that remains unclaimed will attract a demurrage charge of ₦2,000.00 per month.
” All concerned graduands and alumni are therefore advised to take advantage of this grace period to retrieve their certificates before the deadline to avoid payment of the demurrage charge.” (LEADERSHIP)
