The Lagos State Police Command has vowed to impose sanctions on policemen caught on video appearing to brutalise and force some youths into a bus in Ebute-Metta area of the state.
The command disclosed this in an X post shared by its Complaints Response Unit (CRU).
On Monday, amateur footage circulated appearing to show policemen beating some youths, who were subsequently forced into a waiting commercial bus popularly known as ‘danfo’.
An X user, @LagosReporters_, who shared the video, said the incident occurred on Ayodele Street, Ebute-Metta Under Yaba LCDA in Lagos State.
Daily Sun could not immediately verify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
However, the video generated outrage on the microblogging platform, with many netizens calling on police authorities to bring the errant policemen to book.
Reacting, the Lagos CRU said, “The attention of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command has been drawn to the viral video currently in circulation.
“The officers involved will be sanctioned in line with the established procedures.
“The command remains committed to discipline, professionalism and justice.” (The Sun)
