Kelechi Iheanacho
Kelechi Iheanacho is rewriting history in Bursaspor as he continues to find the back of the net since joining the club in the summer.
Iheanacho is the most in-form Nigerian forward in Europe this season without a doubt, and the former Leicester City player is showing no sign of relenting.
The Super Eagles forward extended his blistering goalscoring form for Bursaspor in the Turkish 1st division as he found the back of the net in his 10th consecutive match for Bursaspor.
The former Celtic forward bagged a brace to help Bursaspor to a
comfortable
3-0 win away at Muglaspor on Thursday night as they got back to winning after the loss against Mardin 1969.
Iheanacho had earlier scored in the 48th minute to give Bursaspor the lead but was ruled offside. However, his effort counted 10 minutes later from a composed finish to give his side the lead.
Iheanacho scored again in the 79th minute from a brilliant individual effort to reach 14 goals in 10 matches as he extended his goals record for the club.
Kelechi Iheanacho set a new club record for most consecutive goals for the club in the four days in the loss to Mardin 1969 after equaling Fernandao’s record of scoring in eight consecutive matches.
Iheanacho’s run now stands at 10 matches in a row, two clear of the eight-game mark Fernandao set for Bursaspor in 2014/15.
Kelechi Iheanacho, given his brilliant run in front of goal, is already making a strong case to be included in Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles main squad for the November window of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania.
Iheanacho scored on his return to the team and scored in the pulsating 3-3 draw against Russia in Nizhny Novgorod on October 6.
The Super Eagles are desperate for wins in the double-header against Tanzania as they look to get their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualification back on track after the loss to Guinea-Bissau. ( Guardian)
