Kelechi Iheanacho continued his red-hot form in Turkey with his 12th league goal of the season, but Bursaspor lost 2-1 to Mardin 1969 Spor yesterday.
The former Manchester City forward, who scored for the Super Eagles against Russia during the last international break, has been in fine form and is a firm fan favourite.
The visitors went ahead through Tonio Teklic, on loan from Widzew Lodz, for his third goal of the season. They held the lead until the 81st minute, when Iheanacho levelled for the home side with a neat finish.
However, Mardin 1969 Spor had the last laugh. Zdravko Dimitrov powered home his first goal of the season four minutes into stoppage time to make it 2-1. The visitors finished with 10 men after midfielder Baba Alhassan received a second yellow card, while Bursaspor coach Mustafa Er was shown a red card for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Bursaspor have dropped to second in the table with 19 points, while Mardin 1969 Spor are sixth with 15 points after nine matches. (The Nation)
