Inspector-General of Police IGP, Olatunji Disu
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has approved the deployment of new Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and Public Relations Liaison Officers to seven commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
The postings are aimed at strengthening police communication, improving public access to credible information and enhancing relations with the media and other stakeholders.
Under the new arrangement, SP Johnson A. Doghudje has been posted to Zone 5, while SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji will serve as the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 11, Osogbo.
DSP Orchia Adndongu has been deployed to the Benue State Police Command, while DSP Imah Unwana Victor will serve at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC).
Others are ASP Abdulaziz Maharazu, posted to the Police Academy (POLAC), and ASP Yusuf Adamu Aliyu, deployed to the Yobe State Police Command.
ASP Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi has also been posted as Public Relations Liaison Officer at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Gombe State.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, who issued the statement at the Force Headquarters, said the postings were part of ongoing efforts to strengthen strategic communication and ensure effective engagement with the media and the public.
He said the IGP had charged the officers to uphold professionalism, responsiveness and accuracy in the discharge of their duties.
The officers were also directed to ensure the timely dissemination of verified information and sustain constructive engagement with members of the public and the media. (The Nation)
