Suspended APC Chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has reinstated its suspended State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, after three months.
The party announced the decision on Thursday at a press conference addressed by its State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Isah Abubakar Assalafi, at the APC Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi.
According to the party, the Kebbi State Working Committee had, on June 20, 2026, suspended Kana-Zuru from office through Resolution Number KSWC/010/2026.
The State Working Committee, however, reviewed the circumstances surrounding the suspension and resolved to revoke the earlier decision with immediate effect.
The party says Kana-Zuru is now fully restored as State Chairman, with all the powers, duties and responsibilities attached to the office.
The decision also ends the interim arrangement under which Alhaji Adamu Mudi Augie had been serving as Acting State Chairman.
Assalafi said Augie is to return to his substantive position as Deputy State Chairman, while all official documents and affairs relating to the office of State Chairman are to be handed over to Kana-Zuru.
The APC State Working Committee has also directed the State Secretary to communicate the resolution to the party’s National Headquarters for information and necessary action.
The party called on Its organs, officials, members and stakeholders to recognise and respect the resolution, which it said takes immediate effect.
The resolution was adopted at the APC State Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi on October 1, 2026. (Channels TV)
