The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his leadership style and offered prayers for divine guidance, stability, and economic restoration across the federation.

Ooni ​‌‌‍‍‌‍⁠⁠‌⁠‍⁠‌‍​⁠‍‌​gave the commendation on Monday, while speaking with newsmen in Ile-Ife, after paying homage and performing traditional rites at his Royal family home as part of activities marking the 2026 Olojo Festival.

The traditional ruler charged other political leaders to emulate the vision and mission of President Tinubu for the country and focus more on improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

He urged them to view their positions as opportunities to serve humanity, rather than platforms for personal enrichment.

He further admonished leaders to work actively toward building a peaceful, united, and prosperous country, avoiding divisive politics.

Beyond political leaders, the Ooni charged all Nigerians to actively support initiatives aimed at national progress, peace, and sustainable development.

Oba Ogunwusi stressed the need for political leaders to place the collective interest of Nigerians above personal and political considerations.

The royal father also charged Nigerians to support efforts aimed at promoting peace and development, saying that the progress of the country required the collective commitment of both leaders and citizens.

According to him, the Olojo Festival goes beyond the cultural heritage of the Yoruba, as it represents a global celebration of thanksgiving, hope, restoration and divine intervention.

The festival attracted traditional rulers, government officials, politicians, cultural enthusiasts, tourists and other dignitaries. (NAN)
