President Bola Tinubu has concluded his working vacation and departed Paris for Nigeria, with his aircraft expected to land in Lagos on Tuesday evening.

Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

The Nigerian leader is expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, later on Tuesday.

Tinubu chose to fly into Lagos first to honour the memory of Chief MKO Abiola, the martyr of Nigeria’s democratic struggle.

On Independence Day, the President will attend the premiere of a movie celebrating Abiola, the winner of the June 1993 presidential election, at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.

While in Lagos, Tinubu will also hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates over several days in preparation for the 2027 elections.

The President departed Abuja on Aug. 30 for the working vacation, spending one week in London before proceeding to Paris.

In Paris, he attended a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and met business leaders, including Mr Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group.

The group’s media and digital interests include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group.

On Monday, Tinubu also met with the Chairman of First Holdings, Mr Femi Otedola.

Also, the President witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun Government and DP World for a Gateway deep seaport and Blue Marine Economic Zone.

The project, to be located in Ogun Waterside, is expected to attract a $7 billion investment from DP World, a global ports and logistics operator.

Tinubu will return to Abuja after concluding his political engagements in Lagos. (NAN)
