The General Overseer of Dayspring Assembly, Awada, Obosi, pastor Harrison Anazodo was on Monday, arraigned before the Anambra State High Court sitting in Awka in a wheelchair.

Recall that Anazodo was reportedly arrested by officials of the Anambra State Government on June 10, 2026 over a seven-count charge bordering on allegedly propagating the accumulation of wealth through supernatural means which was proscribed by the Anambra State Homeland Security Law 2025, as well as murder, abduction, and the unlawful separation and isolation of individuals from their families and keeping them in his residence.

He was brought to court from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka and arraigned before Justice Jude Obiora by the Anambra State Government.

Though the court said the alleged offences were committed between 2000 and 2025, the defendant pleaded not guilty to all seven counts.

Counsel to the defendant, W. O. Abonyi, subseqyenhly moved for a bail application which the prosecution Counsel, C. V. Ononye, objected to, arguing that the prosecution had not been sufficiently informed and had not been given adequate notice to respond.

While taking into consideration the health condition of the defendant, who had reportedly spent three weeks in the Intensive Care Unit of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, the judge ordered that he be returned to the hospital.

The court however adjourned the matter to October 12, 2026, for the hearing of the bail application and further proceedings.
