The Nigerian Navy has announced the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise for Batch 39 of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School.

The announcement was contained in a recruitment guideline posted by the Nigerian Navy on its X handle on Monday.

Application

1- Applications are free of charge and must be completed online.

2- The exercise will run from October 2 to October 31, 2026.

3- Qualified applicants are expected to complete their applications online and ensure that all required information is correctly submitted.

warning applicants against making payments to individuals claiming to facilitate recruitment.

“Online registration and other recruitment processes are free of charge and no payment should be made at any point to anyone throughout the Exercise,” the Navy said.

Basic requirements

1. Applicants must be single, Nigerian citizens by birth, and possess a National Identity Card/NIN slip/BVN.

2. Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit in accordance with Nigerian Army Standards.

3. Applicants must be free of any criminal conviction by a court of law.

4. Applicants must meet minimum height requirement of 1.69 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females

5. Candidates must be between 18 and 22 years as of December 31, 2026

Qualifications

1- Applicants must possess at least five credits including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB.

2. In addition to the above qualification, those applying as tradesmen/women must also possess TRADES TEST/CITY AND GUILD CERTIFICATE. Details are available on the website. (Daily Trust)
