The new Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Prof. Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo, has pledged to run an open-door administration that promotes and prioritises inclusivity, accountability and good governance.
Badejo, who assumed office yesterday as the university’s 10th substantive vice chancellor, said her administration would prioritise collaboration and collective responsibility in advancing the institution’s academic and developmental goals.
She spoke while addressing members of the university community during activities marking her assumption of office.
The new VC sought the support and cooperation of management, workers, students and other stakeholders, stressing that their collective efforts would be vital to the realisation of the university’s aspirations.
She thanked members of the university community for the confidence reposed in her, pledging to build on the achievements of previous administrations while pursuing further development in academics, research, innovation and infrastructure.
Badejo reaffirmed her commitment to excellence, innovation and accountability, expressing determination to strengthen LASU’s position as a leading institution of higher learning.
Her assumption of office followed the completion of the five-year tenure of the former vice chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello.
The transition was marked by excitement and jubilation, as workers, students and other members of the university community gathered to welcome the new vice chancellor and offer goodwill messages.
The university described the transition as a milestone that reinforces its commitment to continuity, excellence and sustainable development.
