Operatives of the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) have arrested a woman and two others over the alleged abduction, sexual abuse and cyber-bullying of a 16-year-old girl in the state.

The suspects, Samuel Gbenga, 26; Marvelous Lucky, 27; and Vera Asemota, 22, were said to have allegedly lured the 16-year-old to their hideout at Egbai community, along Sapele Road, where she was subjected to sexual abuse.

The suspects reportedly held the minor captive, stripped her naked and contacted her family, demanding N2 million ransom before she was rescued by the corps.

A source said following the abduction, operatives of the Sapele Road Sector Command commenced investigation into the incident, leading to the rescue of the victim and arrest of the suspects.

The victim, in an interview, said she met one of the suspects, who disguised as a female on social media, and they became friends.

She said after a while, the supposed friend invited her to Idogbo Bypass on the Agbor Road, adding that upon arrival, the suspects allegedly sprayed a substance on her, causing her to pass out.

“When I woke up later in their house, I found myself naked, and they ordered me to dance while they videoed my nakedness. I had to obey their instructions to avoid being killed or harmed,” she said.

The suspects also reportedly confessed to the crime, saying they stripped the victim naked, recorded her and uploaded the video on her Facebook page.

The Corps Commander, Richard Balogun, said the suspects were arrested at midnight following painstaking investigation.

Balogun said the suspects and the video evidence had been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution. (Weekend Trust)
