Udekama Community in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State have disagreed with the Amanyanabo of Elem Kalabari, His Royal Highness, Asari Dokubo, over the operations and activities of a security outfit, Royal Fouche Security Services allegedly linked to him.

Udekama Council of Chiefs accused the Royal Fouche Security outfit of alleged land grabbing activities and related violence.

High Chief Ohosuo Abraham-Francis, who addressed the press on behalf of the Chairman of the Council, High Chief Precious Abadi, called on President Bola Tinubu, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and heads of various security agencies to intervene urgently to avert bloodshed in Degema Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, the Spokesman of the Amanyanabo, Alabo Daerefa-a Christopher Braide, dismissed the allegations as unfounded, stressing that the Amama Soldiers do not operate as a private occupation army or land-grabbing militia.

He said: “Royal Fouche Security Services is a professional security outfit established to provide protection within the ambit of the law.

“The Amanyanabo has not authorised any personnel to seize land, attack communities or interfere with statutory security agencies.”

According to him the Royal Fouche provides security alongside security agencies on the Emohua/Kalabari road, an act he said also benefit residents of Udekama.

He advised the Udekama Chiefs to take land disputes to court and criminal allegations to the police, while urging all parties to avoid media trials that could spark ethnic tension. (Vanguard, but headline rejigged)
