Anambra 2017: Obidigbo dares Ekwunife, Nwoye, Andy Uba for APC guber ticket

Anambra APC governorship aspirant, Dr Chike Obidigbo

A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Dr. Chike Obidigbo, has tasked the party to work towards capturing the Agu-Awka seat of powers by picking him out of the many politicians that are already angling for the party’s ticket.

He made the statement during an interactive session with journalists to mark the end of the year in his factory, Hardis and Dromedas, in Umunya, Oyi local government of the state.

Obidigbo bragged that he remains the only governorship hopeful in the party with the capacity to run against the sitting governor, Willie Obiano, and win the election for the party.

While reacting to a question on APC’s habit of fielding only candidates who have been loyal to the party over the years observed that winning election is not about those who have been in the party for a long time, but fielding people who have structure and support from the people.

In his words, “If APC wants to win the election, it would field their best, but if they use their ticket to compensate someone for loyalty, then they would have made a mistake.

“If that is what they have done in the past, then they know where it has landed them. They must give their ticket to those who can win elections.

“My ambition has nothing to do with selfish interest, money or no money, power or no power, I only sought to help my immediate constituency, because of what God has deposited in me.”

He added that he is not desperate to become the governor of Anambra State, saying that if he failed to clinch the party’s ticket, he will return to his business, but would not withdraw his support for the party.

The former governorship aspirant of APGA during the last governorship election in the state and a renowned manufacturer said that his whole ambition to govern Anambra State was to use the instrument of power to create jobs.

He further maintained that he has ideas that can provide employment in Anambra saying that he cannot do it as an individual.
