Former Southeast spokesman to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Denge Josef Onoh
Former Southeast spokesman to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Chairman of the Forum of Former Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Denge Josef Onoh, has expressed support for the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) over its rejection of the ‘Rainbow Coalition’ political movement associated with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Onoh, in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja, said he supported the PGF’s position, led by Governor Hope Uzodimma, describing the forum’s decision as important to maintaining cohesion within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said the APC was a structured political organisation with established constitutional guidelines and that its candidates and structures should be supported ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Onoh said any political arrangement involving members of other parties should not confuse the APC or undermine its official candidates.
He argued that maintaining a unified party structure would be important to the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections and its longer-term political interests.
Onoh also said political stakeholders from the South should remain engaged in discussions on the region’s future political representation, including the 2031 elections.
He said support for President Tinubu should be channelled through strengthening the APC and its established structures.
Onoh commended the Progressive Governors Forum for its position and called for continued unity among APC members ahead of the 2027 elections. (The Nation)
