Stern-looking, gun-wielding security operatives, comprising mainly personnel of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force, have taken over the headquarters of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) ahead of the stakeholders’ meeting with the delegation from the world football governing body, FIFA.

Daily Sun reports that it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for visitors and stakeholders to gain entrance to the NFF secretariat, as the security operatives subjected them to rigorous screening from the entrance gate before allowing only very few to enter while denying others entry.

The security operatives, numbering over 20, who arrived with several official vehicles, had strategically positioned themselves around the secretariat with intimidating guns, scanning and monitoring every movement around the vicinity.

The attempt by our correspondent to gain entrance to the secretariat complex was resisted by the security operatives on the grounds that a high-level management meeting was going on inside.

They stressed that an order from above had directed that journalists should not be allowed entrance to the complex or operate anywhere inside the secretariat.

Earlier, an official vehicle from the State House, judging by the number plate, had stormed the secretariat to deliver files containing documents before the commencement of the management meeting.

Meanwhile, the FIFA officials billed to participate in the stakeholders’ meeting scheduled to hold tonight in Abuja arrived in Nigeria on Sunday night.
