The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CHISCO Group Nigeria Limited, Chief Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu, has marked his 70th birthday in grand style with the donation of two Mercedes-Benz luxury buses to the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The landmark gesture, made as part of activities to celebrate his 70th birthday, further demonstrates Chief Anyaegbu’s commitment to giving back to society and supporting institutions that contribute to public service and national development.

Chief Dr. Anyaegbu was accompanied by his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Ngozi Anyaegbu, his children, members of the CHISCO Group management team, family members, friends and Vicars from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The presentation ceremony attracted senior officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Lagos State Command, led by the Assistant Controller-General of Corrections in charge of Zone A, ACG Raphael Ogaba Unazi, Esq., fsi, mni, pcc, who represented the Controller-General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, MFR, mni, pcc.

Receiving the CHISCO Group delegation, the Controller of Corrections, Lagos State Command, CC Daramola George, commended Chief Dr. Anyaegbu for the generous intervention, describing the donation as a significant boost to the operational capacity of the Nigerian Correctional Service.

CC Daramola noted that the two luxury buses would enhance mobility and facilitate the effective discharge of official responsibilities at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre.

He also stressed the importance of strategic partnerships between the Nigerian Correctional Service and responsible corporate organisations, noting that such collaborations remain vital to improving correctional administration, rehabilitation and reintegration.

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu said the donation was driven by his desire to celebrate his milestone birthday by giving back to society and making a meaningful contribution to public institutions.

He said the gesture was also a reflection of his family’s longstanding interest in supporting initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and development of the Ikoyi Custodial Centre.

Chief Anyaegbu was accompanied by his son, Mr. Obinna Kingsley Anyaegbu, who has consistently supported initiatives connected with the Ikoyi Custodial Centre and demonstrated a strong commitment to its development.

The donation therefore adds to the Anyaegbu family’s growing contribution to initiatives supporting effective correctional administration and improved conditions within custodial facilities.

The birthday celebration also featured goodwill messages and prayers by Vicars from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Ikoyi, as family members, friends, associates and well-wishers joined in celebrating the CHISCO Group founder’s 70th birthday.

Delivering the vote of thanks, the Officer in Charge of the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Ikoyi, DCC Dr. Julius Ogueri, expressed deep appreciation to Chief Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu and his family for the remarkable gesture.

DCC Ogueri described the buses as a major addition to the Centre’s operational resources, noting that they would significantly support transportation and other official activities.

He prayed for continued good health, divine blessings and greater accomplishments for Chief Dr. Anyaegbu as he enters a new decade of life.
