The Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday declared Senator Magnus Abe, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the Senatorial Rerun Election for Rivers South East Senatorial District Rerun.
Announcing the results, the INEC returning officer for the Rivers South East Senatorial District election, Prof. Onuekwusi Gideon Chinedum, said that Abe polled 125,938 votes to defeat his closest rival, Senator Olaka Nwogu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 25,394 votes.
Kingsley Onyekwere (LP) scored 549, Comrade Oke Brown, (NNPP), 46 and Brown Elfreda (UDP), 99 votes respectively.
Prof. Chinedum said: “Magnus Abe of the APC having certified the requirement of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”
