The photograph you are seeing here was taken yesterday and is self explanatory: It shows a heap of refuse directly behind one of Abuja’s popular eateries, Tantalizers, in Garki Two Abuja, patronised by all categories of persons.

This is a huge health hazard. Because these stinking heaps of refuse (there is more than one of them) are at the back of the building housing Tantalizers, most patrons are unaware and even when they are aware of the presence of these mountains of refuse they appear to be unperturbed.

The Abuja Environmental Agency is so corrupt that it will look the other way while most parts of Abuja are in a mess. However, this same agency is very active in catching innocent children who hawk wares on the streets of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). It is also notorious in collaborating with the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA)’s social secretariat in catching innocent single girls and parading them as commercial sex workers if they can’t pay their way out.
