The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has expressed confidence in the newly elected executive of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Branch, following the emergence of Dr. George Itoro Ebong as chairman.
The endorsement was conveyed in a congratulatory message signed by the association’s Publicity Secretary, Dr. Abdulmajid Yahya Ibrahim, on behalf of the NARD President, Dr. Mohammad Usman Suleiman, the National Officers Committee (NOC), Extended National Officers Committee (E-NOC), National Executive Council (NEC) and resident doctors across the country.
According to the statement, “On behalf of the entire P-MUS-led NARD NOC, E-NOC, NEC Members, the Crown Prince of NARD, and all NARDITES, we heartily congratulate Dr. George Itoro Ebong, POTARD FCTA, on your well-deserved victory as the newly elected Chairman of the NMA FCT Branch.”
The association noted that the outcome of the election reflected Ebong’s proven leadership qualities and commitment to the medical profession.
It stated, “This victory comes as no surprise, as you have consistently demonstrated the vision, competence, and capacity required to lead.”
NARD said it expects the new executive to strengthen unity among medical practitioners, deepen collaboration within the association and pursue policies that advance the interests of doctors and healthcare delivery in the Federal Capital Territory.
The statement added: “As you assume this noble responsibility, we wish you a highly successful and impactful tenure in office. May your leadership foster greater unity, strengthen collaboration, and advance the collective aspirations of the entire NMA FCT family.”
The resident doctors also expressed confidence that the new leadership would deliver meaningful progress during its tenure.
According to the statement, “We are confident that your tenure will be marked by excellence, progress, and meaningful achievements.”
The association prayed for wisdom, good health and divine guidance for the new chairman as he assumes office.
It concluded: “Congratulations once again, and we wish you God’s guidance, wisdom, good health, and every success in this new chapter.”
