The Senate has extended the screening date of the Acting Chairman of the Economic Financial and Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu, and other nominees of the agency, to 11am on Thursday, December 15.
There was no official explanation or referral of the screening exercise to the Senate Committee on Anti-corruption led by Senator Chukwuka Utazi.
News Express reports that it has been over six months that President Muhammadu Buhari, in a letter forwarded to Senate, nominated Magu as substantive Chairman of the anti-graft agency.
Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu had at Wednesday’s plenary announced that the Senate will begin the confirmation hearing of the Acting EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, and board members of the commission on Thursday (Today).
