The Anambra State Government has debunked a trending message circulating on certain WhatsApp groups claiming that the Wife of the Governor, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, is scheduled to visit Owerre-Ezukala in Orumba South Local Government Area of the state.

A statement issued by the Senior Media Aide to the Governor of Anambra State, Daniel Exeigwe described the information as false, adding that the First Lady has not scheduled any visit to Owerre-Ezukala on any undisclosed date.

According to the statement, the first lady has not called on residents or community members to gather at the Okegbe Health Centre to receive her.

The sratement read in part, “Our attention has been drawn to a message currently being circulated on certain WhatsApp groups claiming that Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, is scheduled to visit Owerre-Ezukala on an undisclosed date and calling on community members to gather at the Okegbe Health Centre to receive her,.”

“The information is completely false and did not originate from either the Office of the Governor’s Wife or the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative.

“Members of the public, particularly residents of Owerre-Ezukala should disregard the message in its entirety and refrain from forwarding or acting on unverified information.”

According to the statement, the official activities and engagements of the Governor’s wife are communicated only through verified channels and duly authorized announcements.

It further urged people to verify information before sharing to avoid spreading misinformation and causing unnecessary confusion or anxiety.
