The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has unveiled the full list of officials elected during its 2026 national election, with Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, emerging as the association’s 33rd president.
The results were announced on Sunday by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA), Aham Ejelam, SAN, following the conclusion of voting.
Badejo-Okusanya secured 12,317 votes (47.18%) to defeat Lateef Akangbe, SAN, who polled 7,934 votes (30.39%), while Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, garnered 5,855 votes (22.43%).
With the victory, she becomes only the second woman to lead the NBA after Priscilla Kuye, and will serve a two-year tenure from 2026 to 2028.
The electoral committee disclosed that 26,184 lawyers voted in the NBA election out of 82,172 registered voters, representing a voter turnout of 31.86 per cent.
