Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 6, Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Abbas Muhammed Anni, has called on the Nigerian Police, the State Security Service (SSS) and all relevant security agencies to intervene and bring all those directly or indirectly linked with the alleged plot to assassinate Shehu Sani, Senator representing Kaduna Central and his aides to justice.

Mr. Anni, in a press statement issued on Monday in Kaduna, said such a dangerous unfolding plot is capable of throwing Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole into anarchy and chaos.

The statement reads in part: “For over a week now, there have been sustained attacks and threats to the life of our distinguished Sen. Shehu Sani, his family members, staff and associates.

“On Friday 2nd December, 2016 some hoodlums whom eye witness accounts says were led by the trio of Auwalu Musa (Auwalee), Bala Haruna (Jalingo) and Hussaini Galadima, attempted to set ablaze the family home of Sen. Shehu Sani. The timely intervention of security agents and well wishers was what averted their plans.

“The following day on Saturday 3rd December 2016, while the Senators social media team were meeting at the constituency office, another set of hoodlums and political thugs came in with guns, machetes and other dangerous weapons and attempted to assassinate them. But for the grace of Allah and the gallantry of those present there could have been a massacre on that day.

“There are very credible evidence and records of events that corroborate the fact that those funding these hoodlums are aides to Governor Nasir El-Rufai who are pursuing the agenda of their master to silence all known and perceived enemies and critics.

“There are also documents that link the criminals that are perpetrating these acts to top aides of the Governor who have never hidden their resolve to silence the ever vocal Senator Shehu Sani.

“While we condemn these barbaric acts in its totality, we will also like to make it categorically clear that with all the evidence and documents garnered so far, Governor Nasiru El-Rufai should be held responsible if any harm happens to Sen. Shehu Sani, his family members or aides.

“Let me make it clear once again that Sen. Shehu Sani remains a bonafide member of the All Progressive Congress and nobody can force him out by means of any bogus and illegal bribe induced suspension.”
