Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Colombian music icon Shakira have reunited ahead of Sunday’s FIFA World Cup final, sharing a lighthearted moment during rehearsals at MetLife Stadium.
Burna Boy posted a video on X showing the two artistes exchanging smiles, laughter and a warm embrace as preparations continue for the tournament’s first-ever halftime show at a World Cup final.
The singer also hinted at the upcoming performance, expressing excitement about sharing the stage with Shakira during one of football’s biggest global events.
The halftime show is expected to take place during the final between Spain and Argentina.
Burna Boy’s appearance will mark a historic moment as he becomes the first Nigerian artiste to perform at a FIFA World Cup final halftime show.
The event is being organised in partnership with Global Citizen and will feature a lineup of international performers celebrating the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.
Sunday’s final will see Spain face Argentina, with millions expected to tune in for both the football action and the entertainment showcase.
