Gov Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State has called on members of the public to assist the security agencies with useful and timely information towards securing the lives and properties of all. He added that it is imperative for people to be security conscious of their environment.

The governor gave this advice after paying an on-the-spot assessment visit to Makarfi Local Government Area after a robbery attack on a commercial bank and a police station in the area by unknown gunmen.

“We must all be conscious of our environment and report any suspicious person to the security agencies towards ensuring the security of lives and properties of all,” he said, according to a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Ahmed Maiyaki.

The governor “calls for calm and advises the people in the area to go about their normal businesses as government has taken measures to ensure security of lives and properties,” according to the statement, which disclosed that investigation into the incident has since began and no casualty was recorded during the attack.

Yero has urged Muslims in the state to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Ibrahim (AS) when he intended to sacrifice his son Ismail in obedience to the will of Allah.
