Spokesman of the Isoun Family in Odi, Bayelsa State, Mr. Diseye Timinipre Isoun, announced the passing of the family patriarch, Prof Turner Timinipre Isoun.
Prof Isoun died on Wednesday at 87, the family said in a statement.
Born on September 2, 1938 to Mark Ebidi and Dali Amgbapu Isoun, the late professor embarked on an extraordinary academic journey.
Burial arrangements are will be communicated by the family in due course, the statement said.
He got a federal government scholarship to study at Michigan State University, United States (U.S.) where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1963; a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1965 and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in 1970. (The Nation News)
