Late foremost Biafra youth leader Princewill Chimezie Richards
Foremost Biafra youth leader, Princewill Chimezie Richards, has died unexpectedly in Owerri.
Chimezie, Founder and Leader of the Biafra Nations League (established August 3, 2013 and originally known as the Biafra Nations Youth League), died on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in a hospital in the Imo State capital, a family source told News Express.
According to the OFFICIAL FAMILY ANNOUNCEMENT,
“It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Princewill Chimezie Richardson.
“On behalf of the entire family, we regret to inform his friends, loved ones, and well-wishers of his sudden passing. His kindness, love, and the cherished memories he shared with everyone will forever remain in our hearts.
“We kindly ask you to remember him in your prayers and keep our family in your thoughts as we go through this painful time.
“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Apart from being a separatist leader, the late Princewill Chimezie Richards was an entrepreneur and a musician. He was Founder and CEO of the Sunrise Youth Entrepreneur Initiative, a civil society organisation focused on youth empowerment and humanitarian development.
The video of his song, Nwowolikpa – Bongo Owerri, continues to attract much interest on YouTube.
The late activist has since been buried, according to the family source who spoke with News Express.
