According to the Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa the aircraft couldn’t take off as a result of cracks discovered on the windscreen in the cockpit.
Ebienfa said Air Peace Airlines will be deploying another aircraft today (Wednesday).
In an apologetic tone, Ebienfa stated, “We have a situation in Johannesburg, South Africa regarding the operation of the 4th evacuation flight. The flight couldn’t take off up till now because they saw cracks on the windscreen in the cockpit. Air Peace will deploy another aircraft to South Africa later today to bring the returnees.”
The fourth evacuation was supposed to have departed Johannesburg with 270 passengers on board.
