Obosi Security Management and Finance Committee, which came into being based on the stipulations of the Anambra Homeland Security Law, will, soon emplace measures to guarantee the safety of life and property in Obosi town.
During the inauguration of the Restructured Obosi Security Architecture, which took place at the Obosi town hall on July 1, 2026, Rtd Col. Sam Agbanusi, disclosed that the town’s security architecture would be re-jigged and repositioned to make it perform, optimally.
He said that the security operations in Obosi would be decentralized, stating, emphatically, that each village in the town would have a security outpost that would be subordinated to the Obosi Central Security Outfit.
“Every village in Obosi will have a security outpost where security operatives will stay.
“But for now, we are keeping the operational modalities of the new security architecture to our hearts.
“We are keeping the operational modalities to our hearts because security matters are not discussed, publicly,” Agbanusi said.
Before now, precisely last year, a fifty-man Obosi Security Management and Finance Committee was constituted to oversee the town’s security matters.
The committee, whose chairman is Rtd Col. Agbanusi, has embarked on the fundraising of N200 million security endowment fund.
Expectedly, many Obosi natives, irrespective of their geographical base, have contributed princely sums of money to the common financial pool-N200 million Obosi endowment fund- to ensure that there is no dearth of fund for executing security measures in Obosi.
And the President General of the Obosi Development Union (ODU), Barr. Chimezie Obi, said that members of the Obosi Security Management and Finance Committee had beseeched all Obosi natives to donate money to the N200 million Obosi Security endowment fund.
“We the members of the Obosi Security Management and Finance Committee are begging Obosi natives who have not made contributions to the N200 million Obosi endowment fund to do so,” Obi said.
