Delta State Police Commands spokesman, SP Bright Edafe
The Police have arrested two brothers, identified as Emmanuel Eugene, 18, and Kelvin Eugene, 20, over the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl in Delta State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Okoro Street, Third Marine Quarters, Third Marine Gate, in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, in June 2026.
A source said the victim’s mother had left the girl at home to look after her younger sibling while she went to the market, but disappeared before her mother returned.
The source said following her disappearance, the family began searching for her before a neighbour informed them that the teenager had been seen around the suspects’ residence the previous day.
According to him, the teenager was later found hiding inside a church building in Effuru, by a woman who came to sweep the Church and informed her family.
He said the teenager initially refused to speak about what happened to her but later opened up after repeated persuasions from family members.
“The teenager accused the two brothers of sexually assaulting her and said she fled because she was afraid and ashamed to return home.
“The suspects who admitted having canal knowledge of the teenager said they didn’t force her but she willingly came to them for sex,” the source said.
The Delta State Command’s spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident in a text message, saying “Confirmed.”
Meanwhile, the mother of the victim, however, called on the security to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure justice for her daughter. (Weekend Trust)
