The Management of the University of Calabar (UniCal) has alerted the public to disregard a fake departmental admission cut-off points being circulated on social media platform, describing it as false and misleading.
The institution made the remark in a statement signed by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Effiong Eyo, and made available to journalists on Thursday.
It said that the fake publication was not authorised as it did not emanate from the university, adding that the cut-off points were false.
The management warned guardians and prospective candidates to disregard any such information and refrain from sharing the unverified admission-related content.
“Official information regarding admissions, including departmental cut-off points where applicable, will be communicated through the university’s approved communication channels.
“Candidates are strongly encouraged to rely solely on official university publications and announcements for accurate, authentic, and up-to-date information,” the management stated.
The university management added that it remained committed to transparency and would duly notify the public of all approved admission guidelines and procedures. (NAN)
