Neymar will miss Brazil’s World Cup match against Haiti as he remains sidelined recovering from a calf injury.
Brazil forward, Neymar will not travel with the squad for Friday’s World Cup group-stage match against Haiti in Philadelphia as he continues his recovery from a calf injury, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed on Thursday.
The 34-year-old will remain in New Jersey to complete the final stage of his rehabilitation, with the federation stating that he will continue working at The Ridge hotel and Columbia Park training centre.
Neymar was seen taking part in drills with his teammates on Wednesday after warming up separately with the ball, marking further progress in his recovery. However, Brazil are taking a cautious approach to his return after he sustained a right calf injury during Santos’ 3-0 defeat to Coritiba last month.
The injury is the latest setback in a career increasingly disrupted by fitness problems. Neymar has not played for Brazil in nearly three years. (Arise News)
