Acquitted Ex-Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke
Former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has described her nearly 11-year legal and personal ordeal as “arduous” and “traumatic,” saying her faith and family support have been central to enduring the long-running experience.
In a video spotted by Tribune Online, Alison-Madueke said the period had taken a toll not only on her but also on those close to her, including family members and friends who have remained supportive throughout.
She particularly referenced the emotional strain on her elderly mother in Port Harcourt and her son, noting that the journey had been difficult for all involved.
She expressed appreciation to those who stood by her, saying she was “surrounded by friends” and acknowledging the importance of that support during what she called a prolonged period of uncertainty and hardship.
Despite the challenges, she maintained a strong expression of religious conviction, saying she believes the outcome of events rests with God.
“God will always do as God wills, and God will be God,” she said, adding that “God is not a man that He should lie,” and that divine promises would ultimately be fulfilled.
“It has been almost 11 years I’ve been here. I did my job to the best of my ability. But like I said, God is not a man that He should lie. God is God, and we thank Him. Praise the Lord,” she said. (Nigerian tribune, but headline reworked)
