An educationist, Engr. Solormy Ochokwu, has called on primary schools’ head teachers to register their pupils for the 8th edition of the Idemili North and South Primary School Quiz.
The call for their registration of their pupils for the yearly educational competition is contained in flyers and leaflets distributed to schools’ head teachers in Idemili North and South LGA and circulated on various social media platforms.
Each school is entitled to register a pupil for the competition for free while it will pay N2000 for each pupil it registers for the quiz competition. And only pupils who are in primary five and six classes are eligible to take part in the competition.
Again, teachers whose pupils are participating in the quiz competition will set questions on various subjects, mark the pupils’ papers, and award scores to them.
Thereafter, the best-performing thirty-five pupils will be selected to receive prizes. While the best five pupils will receive princely sums of money, the other thirty pupils will be given consolation prizes.
Engr. Ochokwu, who is an educationist and proprietor of Choice Immaculate Demonstration School (CIDS), Obosi, said that the annual educational competition is designed to whet the pupils’ appetite for acquisition of knowledge, and deepen their love for education.
More so, the pupils’ participation in the quiz competition will equip them with social skills as pupils from different schools will interact with one another. Their interacting with one another will make them become good mixers, who are well-adjusted kids.
Again, their taking part in the quiz competition will disabuse their minds of the erroneous notion that one’s acquisition of education is akin to one’s embarking on a pre-ordained misadventure.
The Idemili north and south primary school quiz competition is the biggest primary school quiz competition in Anambra State.
And the 8th edition of the competition will take place at the cavernous hall of the Emeka and Bunmi Anyaoku Foundation Centre on June 26, 2026.
